Hi everyone! It’s at age three when little girls start getting into girly toys and when kids begin differentiating between gender toys. That’s not to say there aren’t a few toys that go either way, but it’s SO darn cute seeing your little three year old girl play with her girly toys.

I have a daughter who is now 8, but we had many of these when she was three – and they’re evergreen toys – perfect for three and up!

#1 – Melissa & Doug Abby & Emma Deluxe Magnetic Dress-Up Set

Kids love paper dolls, but younger kids often can’t handle the paper version because they’re too rough on them. So this wooden dress up set is just right for three year old girls. These colorful, magnetic dolls are sturdy and the perfect fit for little hands. They’re guaranteed to give your child a lot of fun and imaginative play time. With 60 pieces in the set, your daughter can mix and match clothing for hours. The set is suitable for ages 3 and up.

#2 – Fisher-Price Medical Kit

My daughter Scarlett is 8 and she STILL has parts of this toy we got her when she was three. I cant tell you how many times I’v sat there pretending to be scared of the doctor and she lovingly calms me down and takes my blood pressure. Oh and I ALWAYS have to get a shot and when I pretend to cry, she laughs.  LOL!

This soft bag filled with medical toy tools lets kids use their imagination to pretend to be a doctor. They love checking up on their ‘patients’. Inside the bag, kids have all the tools of the trade. There’s a blood pressure cuff that will let them take blood pressure readings, a stethoscope that allows them to really hear a heartbeat, an othoscope, a syringe and more. Parents love that this set comes in the soft cloth bag rather than a hard plastic case.

#3 – LeapFrog Shapes And Sharing Picnic Basket

This is one I wish they had had (or I’d known about) when Scarlett was three. It’s really precious but what I would have done is surprise her with a REAL picnic in her basket. Even an indoor picnic would be a blast!

This basket allows kids 6 months and older to enjoy playing with different brightly colored foods and utensils. When your child opens up the lid of the picnic basket, she’ll be entertained with cute sound effects and music. The basket includes plates and cups, forks, a blanket and a total of 6 food pieces. Kids love filling the basket up, dumping it out and loading it all over again. The set is designed to help your child understand shapes and colors.

#4 – Playhut Beauty Boutique Play Hut

All three of my kids have LOVED indoor tents. Whether it was pre-made like this or something they put together themselves out of blankets and chairs and tables, it turned an ordinary home into an imaginary world.

This adorable playhut is easy to set up and dismantle when play time is over. The pop up tent looks like a princess dream house and kids love to read, nap and play inside the tent. It has plenty of doors and windows. One of the windows has a windowsill that kids enjoy using. The tent has a changing room area and a glass-free mirror that makes it great for dress up fun. Your child will have hours of fun in this tent by herself or with playmates.

#5 – Pillow Pets Dream Lites – Rainbow Unicorn 11″

Anyone else affected by the ear worm “It’s a pillow. It’s a pet. It’s a pillow pet?” My daughter loves Pillow Pets – she has for a long time. It IS a genius idea – a toy and a pillow all in one. Props to whoever invented it.

A great nap time or bed time buddy, this soft and cuddly unicorn transforms the dark room into an array of stars. The starts light up the night with different colors and put on a soft, soothing light show. This nightlight will give your child comfort especially if she doesn’t like the dark. The unicorn runs on batteries and can be set to shut off the display after 20 minutes of play.

#6 – Dora the Explorer Map & Plush Backpack PURPLE

Scarlett had this, too! She wasn’t a Dora fan but she wanted that backpack. LOL! It was cute enough – soft. Dora the Explorer is a favorite character for kids and they’ll love this purple backpack like the one she carries on the show. It’s for kids 3 and older. The backpack is the perfect bag to pack full of imaginative play items, especially other Dora the Explorer toys. This backpack comes with the vinyl map in the side pocket. The bag can be used as a play item or as a back-to-school backpack.

#7 – Little Tikes Princess Cozy Coupe – 30th Anniversary

This cute pink coupe is for kids who are 18 months and older and up to 50 pounds. The car’s doors open and the horn really works. There are cup holders inside that are just right for a sippy cup to take along on the trip. For safety, the car has a floor for kids who are too young to push the car themselves. A hand space on the roof allows parents to be able to push the child in the coupe. The car has rear storage so your child can take her baby doll along for the ride.

I LOVE how these are pink and girly, not like the red one they usually sell.

#8 – Fisher-Price My First Dollhouse

This dollhouse is open on one side and enclosed on the other. It has a front door that actually opens. This dollhouse allows your child to engage her imagination as she plays with the three piece family which is included. Besides the family of dolls, your child will love the bathroom with the toilet lid that opens, the wide staircase, the cozy balcony and the kitchen. The kitchen features a stove and refrigerator with doors that open and close. There are no chokable pieces with this dollhouse and you can purchase additional sets to go with the house.

# 9 – Melissa & Doug Jenna – 12″ Doll

Little kids love getting their first ‘baby’ to take care of. This doll’s face, arms and legs can be cleaned with just a damp cloth. If the cute hat and onesie she’s wearing gets dirty, the clothes can be tossed into the washer. Her beautiful blue eyes do open and shut. Kids enjoy giving her the pacifier and then rocking her to sleep. Her body is super soft making her a good nap time snuggle baby doll.

#10 – Melissa & Doug Shopping Cart

Okay I LOVE this one. I got Scarlett a cheapo plastic cart when she was about 2 and she STILL plays with it. I wish I’d known about this one because it looks sturdier and more real!

This steel cart is durable and has a plastic seat just like the ones you see in a store. Your child can take her favorite plush buddy along for the shopping trip as she enjoys helping her parents to pick up the groceries. Or she can load it up with toys at home and push it around. There are safety feet beneath the cart to keep your child from tipping the cart over or falling. The cart is for indoor or store use.
